I am an interior architect with 10+ years experience who is switching careers to UX design and frontend web development!
About MeI thrive in a cross discipline collaboration environment. With over 10+ years working in the design field while collaborating with engineers on daily basis. This experience gave me a unique approach in resolving design issues and produce functional and beautiful products.
UX is similar to architecture, every design decisions are made based on user studies and driven by the user needs to make provide best design solutions.
Every project is a team work involves multiple disciplines and I am an excellent collaborator and enjoy working with team members from various backgrounds.
With 10+ years in design industry, solving unforseen issues with creative solutions are my strength.
During Covid pandemic most outdoor activities are limited due to social distancing rules. To solve this issue, this App is using google map api to gather the heatmap of crowd size in certail hiking trail locations. This information will inform hiking enthusiasts who are looking for new hiking trails and places to explore and remain adqute social distancing. *Due to google Map restriction and security, access to crowd heat map is not available for the purpose of this app. This project is still in progress....

DETAILS BACKI started my career as an interior architect and working on multiple large architecture firms in both Seattle and San Francisco. After 10 years in the architecture industry, I got involved in UX/UI design on an interior design project for a high tech client designing way finding graphic system. This experience got me interested in the UX design so I took a course in UX design at SF General Assembly. I was excited to better understand the significant overlap between UX design and architecture. The design thinking process is identical.
To further expand my skills and knowledge. I signed up for the University of Washington Coding bootcamp to learn and gain knowledge of coding and skills in multiple programming languages. This coding bootcamp gave me a great insight of the work involved behind the scene. Equipped with the skills of coding, it also made me a better UX designer who understands not only how the front end UX design process works but also the coding complexity and challenges engineers are facing in their daily work.
I thrive in a multidisciplinary environment with opportunities to learn quickly, tackle problems and come up with elegant solutions. Being a designer not only requires a good sense of aesthetics but also the ability to understand the psychology behind the design intention, which is particularly important when it comes to collaborating cross discipline.
